MAGNETIC PULSE SEPARATION OF METAL WASTES

The machine is designed for on-line separation of metal car or domestic wastes into the following parts:

Ferrous parts

Withdrawn preliminarily by conventional magnet

Dielectric parts

Go to the container at the end of conveyor belt

Copper and copper alloys

Moved to the side container by short and strong magnetic pulse

Aluminum parts

Moved to the side container by short and strong magnetic pulse (separately from copper)

Conductive non-ferrous parts are thrown away from the conveyor belt by a short and strong magnetic field pulse produced by the coil placed under the belt. Ballistic trajectories of parts having different mass densities are substantially different so that the wastes can be separated effectively. Dielectric parts remain on the belt.
