8 - BARREL PELLET INJECTOR FOR HL-1M

EXPORTED TO: China, SWIP – South-Western Institute of Physics, Chengdu

8 – barrel pellet injector for HL-1M tokamak (SWIP, Chengdu, China) is a compact pneumatic type system for injection of frozen hydrogen pellets into plasma. Hydrogen pellets are formed inside the barrels simultaneously by “in-situ” technique. However, every pellet can be injected independently at any time. All the barrels are equipped by fast electromagnetic valves and attached to a common heat exchanger cooled by helium vapor. A special gate valve is used for closing all barrels before fuel gas admission. Pellet injection cycle takes approximately 3 minutes.
